Law of Independent Assortment - 4

Independent assortment applies to two or more loci. Consider the following example for 3 three loci in dogs:

  • C - designates a dominant allele for expression of color. The recessive c produces the albino phenotype when homozygous.
  • L - designates a dominant allele for short hair. The recessive allele l produces long hair when homozygous dd.
  • D - designates a dominant allele associated with no dew claw. The recessive d produces a single dew claw when homozygous.

For the following mating, fill in the expected ratio for each locus (ie. 2:1), then click the check button.
